Appropriate Prepositions – Verbs తో (Verb + Preposition)

Correct: C — for

Wait తో for వస్తుంది: wait for the bus. Look for = వెతకడం, search for, ask for కూడా for తో వస్తాయి. Wait at, wait on అర్థం మారుస్తాయి. ఉదా: look for a job, search for a job, ask for help; ఇవన్నీ for తో వచ్చే క్రియలు.

Correct: D — to

Listen తో to వస్తుంది: listen to music. Hear of/about, hear from వేరే రూపాలు. Look at (చూడటం) తో listen to ను కలగలపకూడదు. ఇలాగే reply to the letter, write to him, apologise to him కూడా to తో వస్తాయి.

Correct: A — on

Depend తో on వస్తుంది: depend on parents. Insist on, congratulate on కూడా on తీసుకుంటాయి. Depend from, depend to తప్పు. ఇదే విధంగా insist on going, congratulate on success లో కూడా on వస్తుంది.

Correct: C — for

Apply for = ఉద్యోగానికి/పోస్టుకు; apply to = వ్యక్తికి లేదా సంస్థకు. నోట్స్ సులభమైన ఉదాహరణ: "I applied for the post and replied to the letter." కాబట్టి ఉద్యోగ దరఖాస్తుకు apply for, సంస్థకు దరఖాస్తుకు apply to అనే భేదం ముఖ్యం.

Congratulate on: congratulate him on his success. For, at, with తప్పు రూపాలు. అలాగే depend on, insist on కూడా on తీసుకుంటాయి. ఇదే వర్గంలో depend on, insist on కూడా వస్తాయి.

వ్యాధికి of వాడతారు: die of cancer. Die from = గాయం లేదా ఇతర కారణం (die from an accident). నోట్స్ ప్రకారం ఈ రెండింటి భేదం పరీక్షల్లో వస్తుంది. అలాగే die from = గాయం, ప్రమాదం వంటి కారణాలు కాబట్టి "die from an accident" సరైనది.

Reply to the letter. Write to = వ్యక్తికి, write on = అంశంపై, write with = పెన్‌తో. Reply for తప్పు. నోట్స్ సాధన ఉదాహరణలో ఇది ఉంది. కాబట్టి reply for, reply on వంటి రూపాలను వాడకూడదు.

Discuss తర్వాత Preposition రాదు: discuss the problem. Depend on, insist on, listen to Preposition తీసుకుంటాయి. అలాగే attend, marry, enter, reach, order కూడా తీసుకోవు.

నోట్స్ ప్రకారం shout at (కోపంతో), shout to (పిలవడానికి). ఇలాగే smile at, laugh at కూడా at తో వస్తాయి. అర్థం ప్రకారం Preposition మారుతుంది. అలాగే smile at, laugh at కూడా at తోనే వస్తాయి.
