Correct: C — nor

Neither … nor, Either … or, Both … and, Not only … but also జతలు కలగకూడదు. Neither తో or వాడడం తప్పు: Neither he nor she came. అలాగే Either కు or జతచేయాలి, Neither కు nor మాత్రమే; ఈ జతలను మార్చకూడదు.

Correct: D — and

Both Ravi and Sita are present. Both…and అనే జతే సరైనది. "Both…or" లేదా "Both…as well as" వంటివి తప్పు రూపాలు. Both ఎల్లప్పుడూ "రెండూ" అనే అర్థం ఇస్తుంది.

Correct: A — but also

Not only … but also: He is not only intelligent but also hardworking. నోట్స్ లోని ప్రతి Correlative జతనూ గుర్తుంచుకోవాలి: Either–or, Neither–nor, Both–and, Not only–but also, Whether–or.

Correct: A — were

Neither…nor లో Verb దగ్గరి Subject కు సరిపోతుంది. దగ్గరి Subject "students" బహువచనం, భూతకాలం కాబట్టి were. was/is ఏకవచనం; has been కాలం, రూపం రెండూ తప్పు.

Either…or లో Verb దగ్గరి Subject (he, ఏకవచనం) కు సరిపోతుంది, కాబట్టి is. are బహువచనానికి, am కేవలం "I" కు. నియమం: Verb దగ్గరి Subject ను అనుసరిస్తుంది.

Correct: C — He plays not only cricket but also hockey.

Not only…but also లో రెండు భాగాలు సమాన నిర్మాణంలో (parallel) ఉండాలి. cricket, hockey రెండూ Nouns, వాటి ముందు not only, but also వాడాలి. రెండవ వాక్యంలో not only క్రియ ముందు ఉండగా but also Noun ముందు ఉండటం వల్ల నిర్మాణం సమానంగా లేదు.

Correct: D — Helping verb Subject కు ముందు వస్తుంది (Inversion)

Not only did he come, but he also helped వంటి వాక్యాల్లో Not only వాక్యం ప్రారంభంలో వచ్చినప్పుడు inversion వస్తుంది. ఇది ప్రశ్న కాదు, but also తొలగించరు.
